The collective living of Ayta Hung-ey and their relentless struggle to defend their territory paint the hills and mountains of Barangay Aranguren, Capas, Tarlac.
“Our life has always been simple because our land provides us with food, water, medicine, and wood,” said Petronila Capiz-Munoz, tribal chieftain of Sitio (village) Sapang Kawayan, Capas.
Embracing the indigenous way of living, the Ayta Hung-ey people have enjoyed their traditionally owned and managed territory. Communities have utilized the forests, mountains, and rivers for their sustenance without compromising ecological integrity.
